Tyrese Haliburton talks about criticism he faced throughout the NBA season
The NBA Finals Game 2 media day has already started, with media rushing towards the star players from both times. For the Indiana Pacers, it is Tyrese Haliburton who made the final shot in the last few seconds that helped the Pacers secure victory.
When asked about his thoughts on the criticism he faced throughout the season, Haliburton replied,
“I think it’s been crushing. I think it’s unorthodox… my jumper, the way it looks has always been criticized.. I think sometimes the effect I have on the game is not the gaudy box score numbers, but the way the game is digested by fans sometimes, it’s a lot of box score watchers and my box score doesn’t look the way it’s supposed to, and I think that can be a part of it.
I don’t necessarily know the answer but I know that it’s probably not going to stop anytime soon.”
Haliburton’s statement also gives a hint of the self-questioning and self-doubts that he might have gone through during the season. However, the Pacers’ point guard has shown amazing resilience throughout the season, and if it were not for his last second score, the Pacers’ would not have the lead they have now.
Though Haliburton’s stats might not speak for the player, but his on-court performance shows how important he is for the Pacers. Despite that, the star player has been facing criticism throughout the season by various fans and critics. However, his fellow teammates have always defended him and praised his talent immensely.
