Randeep Raii, who was recently seen in a grey role in Anupamaa, is thrilled about stepping outside his comfort zone. Known for his loverboy image on TV after having acted in shows like Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 and Balika Vadhu 2, the actor has been eager to do different kinds of roles. He says, “I’ve played lead roles for almost a decade now and while I’m grateful for those opportunities, I wanted to break free from the loverboy image. I don’t want to limit myself. Growth, for me, means evolving with every project.”He adds, “My role in Anupamaa was refreshing and it gave me a chance to challenge myself as an actor. Going forward, I’d love to take up more grey or even negative roles. I’m also drawn to the mythological genre. I would love to play Ram or Krishna in a show." ‘I hope to find the right partner soon’On the personal front, Randeep says that he’s single. “When I did Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai in 2017, I got thousands of marriage proposals from my hometown, Jhansi, and nearby towns in Uttar Pradesh,” he recalls with a smile. “But like the show’s title, yeh un dinon ki baat hai — those days are long gone. Life has moved on, and now I genuinely feel it’s time to settle down. My parents are also hopeful that I’ll find the right partner soon. It is important to find your soulmate."
