The proposal stipulates that each team can have only one player participate in the event.Under the rules, only one player per NFL team can compete on each national team, and teams' designated international players will be allowed to play for their home countries.While Patrick Mahomes is largely believed to be the designated international player and will likely be a part of the Olympics, Travis Kelce can’t be ruled out. Next season marks Kelce’s 13th year in the NFL. He has secured three Super Bowl titles and is undoubtedly destined for the Hall of Fame, though he has not surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in the last two years.Travis Kelce’s contract expires by the end of the season, and even if he retires, he can’t be excluded from the list of players who would be considered for the 2028 Olympic run. The only catch is that Kelce will need to be in good enough form to be considered. He’s 35 now and will likely be 38 in 2028, which makes peak fitness an uphill battle for the athlete.
