Stand-up comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina appeared at the Maharashtra Cyber Cell office in Navi Mumbai on Monday (March 24) to provide his statement regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding his show, India’s Got Latent. His presence came nearly a month after he was initially asked to meet the investigative officers in person. He was questioned by the officials for six long hours.
In a recent video shared by IANS on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, Samay was seen entering the Cyber Cell office. The probe, which has gained significant attention, involves 42 individuals who have been summoned in connection with the case, including Raina. Earlier, the comedian had reportedly sought permission to attend the proceedings via video conferencing as he was abroad at the time, but the request was denied by the Cyber Cell, requiring him to appear in person.

According to Republic World, Samay was questioned by the officials for six long hours before leaving the Cyber Cell office.
Last Thursday, Raina took to his Instagram stories to inform fans that his India tour was being rescheduled. The comedian assured ticket holders that full refunds would be processed soon.
"Hello guys, I am rescheduling my India tour. You will all receive the refunds shortly. See you soon," he wrote.

Raina’s tour had been highly anticipated, with all tickets selling out through advance bookings. However, he had to cancel the show amidst the legal proceedings.
The controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia, aka BeerBiceps, made some inappropriate remarks about sex and parents in the last episode of the show. The incident triggered widespread criticism, with social media users and legal experts weighing in on the ethical and legal implications.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court expressed its displeasure over Raina’s public remarks on the issue, stating that today’s youth often think they are “oversmart" and act as though they “know more."
"There are some people who are writing articles on free speech, etc. We know how to handle them as well. Every fundamental right is followed by a duty. There are restrictions too," Justice Surya Kant remarked while hearing a petition filed by Allahbadia.
