Nainar Nagenthran denies BJP role in PMK rift
Tirunelveli: State BJP president Nainar Nagenthran on Friday denied allegations that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had any involvement in the internal rift within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK). Addressing reporters in Tirunelveli on Friday, Nagenthran urged political parties to refrain from making baseless speculations."The BJP has no connection to PMK's internal issues," he said. "Alliance talks with the PMK happened over a year ago. We cannot comment on what transpired back then, but BJP is in no way responsible for the current split." Responding to political speculation over the alliance dynamics, Nagenthran maintained that the BJP respects the autonomy of its allies and has never interfered in their internal affairs.Commenting on the political climate in Tamil Nadu ahead of the 2026 state elections, he said the DMK govt was "already feeling the heat" due to rising crime rates and poor law and order. "The people of Tamil Nadu are closely observing the failures of this govt. It's time for real governance, not distractions," he said.
