Sub-inspector Prakash Chand of Akbarpur police station said Sarup Khan, a resident of Nangal Ratavat, lodged an FIR alleging that his son, Sayan Khan, a student of Oxford Children's Academy, was brutally beaten up by the principal, Iqbal Khan, during an English class.

The boy sustained severe injuries, with deep blue contusions visible on his body, he alleged. The principal also struck the boy on the ear, leaving an injury mark, he said in the FIR.

Sarup Khan said he has two sons enrolled at the school.

"Both boys were subjected to corporal punishment by the principal on Tuesday, but I mentioned only one's name in the complaint because his injuries are severe. My other son, Arif, is in the second grade," he said over phone.

The SI said the accused principal was not found during a search of the school premises and that a further search for him is on.
